GTA 6 Voice Actors: Who Is Confirmed in the Cast

Exactly one GTA 6 actor is on the record today: Stephen Root. Every other name you see attached to Lucia, Jason or anyone else in Leonida comes from fans matching voices, alleged paperwork or guesswork, and none of it is confirmed. Rockstar has not published a cast list, and the game comes out on 19 November 2026.

Stephen Root is the only confirmed GTA 6 actor

On 14 September, the Associated Press published a 41-second interview clip in which Root, known for King of the Hill, Office Space and Barry, was asked about Grand Theft Auto VI. AP's own summary says he "confirms online speculation that he's part of the cast." It is the first time an actor has put his own GTA 6 involvement on the record. What Root confirmed is that he is in the game. Which character he plays is one step further removed. Fans had matched his voice to Brian Heder, the Keys drug runner from Rockstar's character bios, from trailer footage long before the interview, and Root himself said people who knew his voice from King of the Hill had recognised him early. But according to GamesRadar, he didn't name the character. So Brian Heder is the role everyone associates with him, and the voice match is strong, but strictly it stays Reported until the credits or Root himself name it. Every other GTA 6 cast name is unconfirmed

Search for "GTA 6 cast" and you will find complete-looking lists: an actor for Jason, one for Lucia, names for Cal, Boobie and the rest. None of those names comes from Rockstar, and none of those actors has confirmed a role. We don't repeat them here, because printing a rumoured name next to a character is exactly how a guess starts to look like a fact.

The evidence behind those lists usually falls into one of three buckets:

• Voice matches. Fans compare a trailer line with an actor's earlier work. That is how Root was spotted, but a good match is still a guess until someone on the record confirms it.
• Alleged paperwork. Claims that cite union filings or court documents can't be checked by readers, and none has been backed by Rockstar or by the actor named.
• Résumés and reels. A credit for an "untitled project" tells you nothing about which game, or which character.

If an actor confirms a role in their own words, the way Root did, the name goes on this page the same day with a link to the statement.

Rockstar reportedly told the cast to wait until 19 November

Why hasn't anyone else spoken up? GamesRadar reported, citing Insider Gaming and the GTAVIoclock podcast, that Rockstar contacted its voice cast after Root's interview with a reminder about their non-disclosure agreements. The quoted message says the date actors may announce their involvement "is still November 19th."

Rockstar hasn't commented on that, so it is Reported, not confirmed. If it is accurate, launch day is when actors are free to talk, and the in-game credits will name the whole cast at once.

You will hear the English cast, with subtitles

Store data says GTA 6 is voiced in English only. Microsoft's Xbox listing shows 13 supported languages for the interface and subtitles, but English (United States) is the only language with audio. GTA V's three leads were working actors, not stars

This section is about GTA V, not GTA 6. It is here because it is the closest comparison for how a Rockstar cast looks.

GTA V's three protagonists were voiced and performed by Ned Luke as Michael De Santa, Shawn Fonteno as Franklin Clinton and Steven Ogg as Trevor Philips, per The Escapist's cast list. As The Escapist puts it, players might not have recognised the names, even if they had seen or heard the actors before: Ogg had roles in Snowpiercer, Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead, and Fonteno had a small part in the original Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

That is also why voice-matching a lead from a trailer is so unreliable. If the actor has little well-known work to compare against, fans end up matching to whoever sounds close enough.

What happens to this page at launch

When GTA 6 is out on 19 November, we will take the names from the in-game credits and list them here character by character, starting with Lucia and Jason.
