GTA 6 on PC: Release Watch & What History Says
Updated:
Let's be straight about this, because a lot of sites aren't: there is no announced PC version of GTA 6. No date, no confirmation, nothing. This page tracks the facts and the historical pattern — and gets updated the day that changes.
The official status
GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has not commented on PC. That silence is normal for them — which is exactly why history is the best guide we have.
Rockstar's console-first track record
| Game | Console launch | PC launch | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V | Sep 2013 | Apr 2015 | ~19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Oct 2018 | Nov 2019 | ~13 months |
| GTA IV | Apr 2008 | Dec 2008 | ~8 months |
If Rockstar repeats the GTA V/RDR2 pattern, a PC version would plausibly land somewhere in late 2027 to 2028. That is our reading of history, not an announcement — and Rockstar has broken patterns before.
About those "GTA 6 system requirements" pages
Every "minimum/recommended specs" list for GTA 6 you can find today is invented. There is no PC version to have requirements. When real specs exist, they'll come from Rockstar, and you'll find them here with a Confirmed badge the same day.
What you can reasonably assume: a game built for current-gen consoles will want a fast NVMe SSD and won't target decade-old hardware. Beyond that, save your money until there's something real to spec against.
Will we cover PC rumors?
Only with the honesty labels they deserve. Our verification system marks every claim Confirmed, Reported or Debunked — PC-port rumors have a long history of being the last category.
