GTA 6 Characters: Lucia, Jason and the Cast of Leonida

Lucia Caminos

The first non-optional female protagonist in the series. Born in Liberty City, Lucia moved to Leonida with her family and ended up in Leonida State Prison — in her own words, for "fighting for her family." Trailer 1 opened on her parole hearing, and the story picks up as she tries to rebuild her life on the outside — with Jason, and with increasingly bad options.

Jason Duval

An Army veteran who washed up in the Leonida Keys looking for an easy life and found the opposite. Jason does favors for a local drug operation in exchange for rent, and wants out. Rockstar's framing for the pair is explicit: a criminal couple, in over their heads, who can only trust each other.

The dual-protagonist setup

You play both Lucia and Jason. Rockstar has not yet detailed exactly how switching works — whether it follows GTA V's free-switching model or something new is one of the biggest open questions for a future gameplay reveal. Anything you've read about switching mechanics so far is unconfirmed.

Confirmed supporting cast

Rockstar's official site introduced a supporting cast alongside the May 2025 relaunch; two of them also appear on the official cover art revealed June 18, 2026:

• Cal Hampton — Jason's friend, a conspiracy-minded recluse comfortable behind a police scanner.
• Boobie Ike — a Vice City hustler-turned-mogul with fingers in real estate, a strip club and the music business.
• Dre'Quan Priest — an ambitious music promoter building a label from the club scene up.
• Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy) — a rap duo chasing virality and money, in that order.
• Raul Bautista — a veteran bank robber always recruiting for the next big score.
• Brian Heder — a legendary drug runner from the Keys' smuggling heyday, living on past glory.

What we still don't know

The main antagonist, the full mission structure, romance/relationship mechanics between the leads, and how deep the character-switching goes — all officially unannounced. When Rockstar reveals more (Trailer 3 is widely expected to be story-focused), this page gets updated the same day.
