GTA 6 Cheats: No Verified Codes Yet (and Why Lists Lie)

There are no verified GTA 6 cheat codes. Not for PS5, not for Xbox Series X|S, not for anything. The game comes out on 19 November 2026, and Rockstar has not published a single cheat, a cheat list, or even said how cheats will work in Grand Theft Auto VI.

That will not stop search results from showing you pages titled "All GTA 6 cheats for PS5 and Xbox." Those lists are either GTA V codes with a new heading on top, or they are made up. This page explains how to tell, and what we will put here once the game is actually in our hands.

Nobody can have tested a GTA 6 cheat yet

A cheat code only counts as real if someone typed it into the game and watched it work. Nobody outside Rockstar can do that before launch. There is no demo, no beta and no early build, and Take-Two's latest earnings release still lists the game for 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.

So any page that shows you a GTA 6 button sequence today is asking you to trust a code nobody could have checked. Our everything we know hub tracks what Rockstar has actually confirmed, and cheats are not on it.

The lists you see are GTA V codes, or invented

The easiest way to fill a "GTA 6 cheats" page is to copy GTA V's list. It is long, well documented and still searched every day. A few tells give it away.

Phone numbers starting with 1-999. In GTA V, every phone cheat begins with 1-999, followed by digits that spell out the cheat's name on a phone keypad, as GamesRadar explains. If a "GTA 6" list uses that exact format, you are looking at GTA V.

Button sequences that match a GTA V guide line by line. Put the list next to any GTA V cheat guide. If the sequences are identical, including the order of the shoulder buttons, it is a copy.

A PC section. GTA 6 has no announced PC version. Rockstar and Take-Two list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, nothing else. A page with "GTA 6 PC console commands" is describing something that does not exist yet. Our PC guide covers what is and isn't known there.

No test date and no platform. A genuine cheat list says where and when each code was checked. A copied one never does.

The invented lists are harder to spot because they don't match anything. Treat them the same way. If a code has no source you can check, it is not a code. The same logic applies to fake leaks, which we took apart in why almost every GTA 6 leak is fake.

How cheats worked in GTA V

This section is about GTA V, not GTA 6. It is here so you can recognise the patterns above.

In GTA V, console players entered cheats as button sequences during play, and a notification confirmed when one worked. Players on every platform could also open the character's in-game phone, bring up the keypad and dial a cheat number. On PC, pressing the tilde key opened a text console where you typed the cheat name, per GamesRadar's guide.

Cheats in GTA V had a cost. Rockstar's own support page says saving stays allowed with cheats active, but achievements are temporarily disabled. Entering the same code twice usually, not always, switches a cheat off, and reloading a save or restarting the console resets all cheats. That is how GTA V worked. Whether GTA 6 has cheats at all, and whether it treats trophies the same way, is unknown until Rockstar says so or the game is out.

"Cheat" downloads are a malware lure

Some sites go a step further and offer a GTA 6 cheat tool, trainer or mod menu to download. There is no game for such a tool to work on. In August, Malwarebytes traced fake GTA 6 demo sites to an infostealer that pulls saved passwords and session cookies from 19 browsers. A "cheat" installer is the same trick in a different outfit. Don't download anything that promises GTA 6 content before 19 November. Nothing legitimate exists to download.

What this page will look like after launch

When GTA 6 is out, we will play it and try codes ourselves. A code goes on this page only after we have entered it in the game and seen it work. Each one will carry the platform we tested it on and the date we tested it. If a code works on PS5 but we have not checked it on Xbox, the page will say exactly that.

If Rockstar publishes an official list, we will link it and check it against the game rather than copy it blind. Until then, this page stays a status page: no verified GTA 6 cheats, and no guesses dressed up as codes.
