Short answers, official sources only. Anything not answered here probably hasn't been announced — check the badge system on our news for what's confirmed versus rumored.
When does GTA 6 come out?
Thursday, November 19, 2026. Announced November 6, 2025, and reaffirmed by Take-Two at every checkpoint since, most recently in print in its August 7 earnings release. Is GTA 6 delayed? Every reaffirmation.
What platforms is GTA 6 on?
PS5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S. No other platforms are announced. Our platforms guide shows the official evidence that rules out PS4, Xbox One and Switch 2.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not announced. Rockstar has followed a console-first pattern before — GTA V's PC version came about 19 months after console launch. Our PC version watch tracks this.
How much does GTA 6 cost?
$79.99 (Standard) or $99.99 (Ultimate). Editions compared.
Can I preorder now?
Yes — since June 25, 2026. Preorder before November 20 and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack bonus regardless of edition.
When does preload start?
November 12, 2026 for digital versions, at midnight local time. Boxed copies need the code redeemed first, so a late delivery means a late preload.
Step by step for both consoles: how to preload GTA 6.
What time does GTA 6 unlock on launch day?
Rockstar hasn't announced it, but the PS5 and Xbox store data show midnight in your store region. Sony's PlayStation Store lists a separate unlock per region, each at 00:00 local time: New Zealand first on 18 November (11:00 UTC), the US and Canada at 05:00 UTC, Mexico last. The store data behind Microsoft's Xbox listing carries the same local midnights in every market we checked on 29 September, although the Xbox page itself shows only the date. That is store data, not a Rockstar or Microsoft confirmation. Our release time guide has the full table and how to check your own region.
How big is the download?
Not announced. Any file-size figure you've seen is a guess. Our file size and storage guide covers how much free space each console really has and what to clear before preload.
Does the physical edition include a disc?
No. The boxed edition contains a download code. A disc version later is rumored, not confirmed. Details.
How to enter it on PS5 and Xbox: redeem the GTA 6 box code.
Is there a GTA 6 collector's edition?
Not of the game. The only editions are Standard and Ultimate. Rockstar's Vice City Collection is a merchandise box with eleven items and no game in it, shipping from November 19. Outlets quoting the store put it at $399.99; the Rockstar Store page showed us no price. What's inside.
Who do you play as?
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval — dual protagonists. Character profiles.
Where is GTA 6 set?
Vice City and the State of Leonida — Rockstar's Florida. Setting guide.
Is there a new trailer coming?
Nothing new is announced. The latest official footage is the Launch Trailer of October 15, 2026, scored by Justice (details). The longest is Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which premiered on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, 2026 and went up free on Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official GTA VI site the same night. Rockstar never released a standalone "Trailer 3". What the Extended Look confirmed.
What about GTA Online 2 / multiplayer?
Rockstar hasn't said, and no successor to GTA Online has been announced. Sony's PlayStation Store listing shows 1 player and describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience. That is storefront copy, not a Rockstar statement about online: what that listing does and doesn't prove. Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick then told shareholders on 17 September, "We're launching GTA 6 as a single player experience on two major platforms," as quoted by Inven Global. Per PC Gamer, he said the current GTA Online will keep being supported, and he gave no date for a new one. Any release date you see for a new GTA Online is invented. A UK employment tribunal has since surfaced one real number, 32 players tested internally, the same slot count GTA Online already has (30 players plus two spectators), but that's testimony from a labour dispute, not a launch confirmation. It also matters for Australian players, because the country's age check codes only reach online games with an R18+ rating — see what Australia's age verification law actually requires.

Are there GTA 6 reviews yet?
No. Metacritic lists no critic reviews and the Metascore reads "tbd". Rockstar hasn't announced a review embargo, and one report says reviewers may have to play on-site without review codes. Where GTA 6 reviews stand.
