GTA 6 on LOVE Magazine Cover: Jason, Lucia, Rob Nelson

LOVE Magazine has put Jason and Lucia on a cover of its Issue 27, out on 5 October 2026, and opened the feature with four new images and a handful of quotes from Rockstar staff. We label this Reported. The preview went out on 2 October through Instagram, and we could not load Instagram to read the posts ourselves. Vice and KeenGamer, which we did read, are our basis, and neither is Rockstar. The full interview only exists on paper from Monday, so most of it is still unread.
What the preview contains
According to KeenGamer, LOVE revealed the feature through its official Instagram account on 2 October. The cover carries new artwork of Jason and Lucia made by Rockstar. Four new images came with the preview: the pair in a diner, playing pool, on a motorcycle, and in a black-and-white portrait.
Vice says Rockstar itself shared the preview on Instagram. KeenGamer credits LOVE's account. The outlets disagree on whose post it was, which is exactly why this is not a Confirmed story: we have no Rockstar page, Newswire entry or fetched post that carries the material. The Newswire's newest entry is still the 24 September Vice City Collection pre-order post, and nothing on rockstargames.com/VI mentions LOVE.
The physical issue is listed at €25 through the distributor KD Presse. KeenGamer reports that the early pre-orders sold out quickly.
Who is quoted
The feature is built around an interview with Rob Nelson, co-studio head of Rockstar North. The reported line on design philosophy: Rockstar uses realism where it strengthens immersion and puts what works best for the player first when the two clash. Nelson also spoke to Famitsu in August, when he described non-lethal suppressive fire.
Two writers speak about the leads. Vice quotes game writer Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern: "We wanted both protagonists to be vulnerable, tough, flawed, right sometimes, wrong sometimes, able to learn from each other." Vice also names writer Alexa D'Agostino, who talks about giving each character their own desires and motivations, and Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's Senior Vice President of Narrative, who frames the story as a Bonnie and Clyde tale in a world of extreme wealth and ambition.
What it adds to what we know
Not much that is hard fact, and that is the honest summary. Vice's reading is that Lucia actively pushes for a better life and past obstacles, while Jason reacts to circumstances with less control over where he ends up. That sits close to the official bios Rockstar already published for Lucia and Jason. Our characters guide has both profiles and the full supporting cast.
The framing of the pair as flawed partners who learn from each other also fits the optional relationship system that preview creators described in July. We covered it in our explainer on Jason and Lucia's relationship system. Only the optional part is on the record from Rockstar. The quotes in LOVE do not describe mechanics, so they add tone, not a feature list.
What it does not add
- No new gameplay systems. Nothing in the reports describes missions, mechanics or modes.
- No new cast names. Voice actors for the leads remain unannounced. Our cast guide tracks who is actually on the record.
- No date, price or edition news. Those still live on the editions page and in the everything-we-know hub.
- No leak involved. The images and cover are promotional material that reached the press through the magazine and Instagram. We do not host them. You can see them at the outlets cited above.
This is the second print-media beat in a week. Game Informer's cover story went live on 29 September, and we summarised what it said in our Game Informer post. Both are part of the run-up to the 19 November launch, where Rockstar controls the flow of new material through partner outlets.
When this post updates
LOVE Issue 27 ships on 5 October, but physical copies take days to reach readers, and the sold-out pre-orders mean quotes will spread through photos and scans. We will only add what a named outlet quotes with context, and only mark anything Confirmed if Rockstar publishes the same text on its own channels. If Rockstar posts the interview or the images on the Newswire, this post moves to Confirmed.
