GTA 6 Radio Stations Confirmed: Six Stations, Podcasts

On 8 October Rockstar answered the question our soundtrack guide had to leave open: yes, GTA 6 has named radio stations. Six of them are now on the official music page with a short audio preview each. Rockstar also said GTA 6 will have on-demand podcasts, a first for the series. This is Confirmed: the stations, their descriptions and their hosts are on Rockstar's own page, which we fetched for this story.
The six stations Rockstar has named
The music page on rockstargames.com lists six stations. These are Rockstar's own descriptions:
- Cocoteo FM: "Modern Latin from El Martillo and La Gata. El party que nunca se apaga."
- Back Country Radio: "Airboat-ready renegade country from MW and Delta Dawne."
- AfroBank FM: "Amapiano, African classics, 3-step, and more from Burna and Palmsy. Turn up the gbedu."
- The Chamber 106.6: "Crushing metal has landed in Leonida. Jump in the pit with DJ Kerry and DJ Tom."
- Flash FM: "The Vice City institution that delivers the best in pop music and guaranteed grooves with Robyn and Alex."
- Dirty South Classics: "A little southern hospitality from Trick and Trina, blasting regional rap and hip-hop classics."
Flash FM is the one old fans will recognise. It is the pop station from GTA Vice City, and Rockstar calls it a Vice City institution. The other five are new names.
Podcasts, and music on foot
The same page says GTA 6 has "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet." The announcement post on the Rockstar Newswire adds the details. 9to5Toys quotes it as saying the game will have "a series of on-demand podcasts" for Jason and Lucia "to experience beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio", and that you can listen "in vehicles and on foot" through "newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones". Dexerto reports the same, and adds that Rockstar shared three new screenshots with the post.
We could read the Newswire page's title and summary directly, but not its full body text, so the podcast and headphone wording above rests on those two outlets quoting it. Rockstar's music page, which we did read in full, confirms the podcasts exist.
Who plays the hosts
Rockstar's page names the DJs only as characters. Real names are reported, not confirmed on the page we read. Forbes, in its headline, lists Lana Del Rey and Bad Bunny alongside Morgan Wallen as radio hosts. We could not open that article (it returned a 403), so treat the casting as Reported until Rockstar names its voice cast. The sensible reading is that "MW" on Back Country Radio is Morgan Wallen, who also has a single on the album, but Rockstar has not said so.
What is still missing
Six stations are not the whole radio. The music page says GTA 6 spans stations "dedicated to everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio." Neither a classic rock station nor a talk station is among the six, so more are coming. Rockstar has not said how many there will be in total, which songs play on which station, or whether the 34 tracks of GTA 6: The Album are on the radio at all.
For scale, GTA V had 15 music stations, two talk stations and 240 licensed songs, according to Rockstar's soundtrack supervisor in 2013. That is GTA V, not GTA 6, and the final GTA 6 count is unknown.
The album is unchanged. The music page repeats "34 original tracks" and "Coming November 19", with the same six singles and vinyl and CD pre-orders. For what that costs, see the editions and pre-order guide.
What to expect next
Rockstar posted this on the Newswire, so more station reveals could follow the same way. Our everything we know page tracks every confirmed fact, and the countdown shows the live clock to launch. We will update the soundtrack guide when Rockstar names more stations or the rest of the album.
