Who Is Cal Hampton in GTA 6? Official Bio and Links

Cal Hampton is Jason's friend and the quiet link in GTA 6's Keys crew. Rockstar's tagline for him is a question: what if everything on the internet was true? His bio makes clear he has already decided it might be.

Cal is the friend who never leaves the house

Rockstar's picture of Cal is very specific. He feels safest at home, snooping on Coast Guard communications with a few beers and some private browser tabs open. Two lines of his own fill in the rest: there are "way too many birds flying around in perfect formation", and "the psychopaths are in charge. Get used to it."

Rockstar's second paragraph is almost affectionate. Cal is at the low tide of America and happy there, and casual paranoia loves company. That last phrase is the setup for the one tension in his file: his friend Jason has bigger plans.

He connects Jason to Brian from the side

Cal's bio is short, but it carries two of the six links on the evidence board. He is Jason's friend, and he is "a fellow associate of Brian's", meaning Brian Heder, the Keys smuggler Jason works for. Jason, Cal and Brian are the only three characters who are all linked to one another.

What Cal does for Brian, the bio doesn't say. Listening to the Coast Guard is a useful hobby for someone who knows a smuggler, but that connection is ours, not Rockstar's. Treat it as a reading, not a fact.

His home base is not stated

Jason and Brian are both placed in the Leonida Keys by their bios. Cal's is not. Given his friends it would be no surprise, but nothing Rockstar has published puts him there, so his file reads "not stated".

What happens to this file at launch

Rockstar has not said whether Cal gives missions, joins jobs or only appears in cutscenes, and no actor has confirmed the role. When the game is out on 19 November, this page will add what he actually does, the same way the missions page will.
