Ten Artists Tease GTA 6 Radio Spots, Rockstar Stays Silent

ReportedNME4 min read

Ten posts landed within an hour of each other

On the evening of 15 September, Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Future, Metro Boomin, Fred again.., PinkPantheress, Yung Lean, Rauw Alejandro, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards all posted images rendered in GTA 6's neon-and-pastel art style. None of the posts link to each other and nobody used a shared hashtag, but the timing was tight enough that NME, GamesRadar+, and Vice's full roundup all read it as a coordinated rollout rather than ten separate coincidences.

Travis Scott tagged Rockstar Games directly under an image of a pole dancer's shoe, writing "Phase 1... NOW ITS TIME... MY RETURN TO GAME GOTTA COME WITH RAGE AND ALOT OF DANCING." Keith Richards, decades outside the demographic GTA usually markets to, posted an iguana with no caption explaining why. PinkPantheress and Fred again.. both shared the same yacht shot. Nobody's post explains what any of it actually means in-game, which appears to be the point: this is a marketing tease, not a track listing.

Why the badge on this post says Reported

Rockstar hasn't put its name on a single one of these posts. No Newswire update, no official soundtrack page, no press release naming a radio station. What actually happened is ten artists announcing their own involvement in their own game appearance, on their own accounts, within roughly the same hour. Outlets covering the story call that a Rockstar-coordinated release, and that's almost certainly right, but Rockstar itself hasn't confirmed the coordination or named a single station. Treat the fact of involvement as very likely real; treat any specific station, song, or character tie-in as still unconfirmed until Rockstar publishes something with its own logo on it.

Fans are already trying to decode who gets what

Future, Metro Boomin, and Yung Lean all posted the same recolored Corvette image, while Travis Scott, Keith Richards, and PinkPantheress each got a unique shot. Some fans reading the rollout think that split is the tell: shared artwork points to a radio credit, unique artwork points to an actual in-game cameo or character role. GTA has precedent for the latter. Kyle MacLachlan voiced a character in GTA 3, Cara Delevingne played herself in GTA 5, and Karl Lagerfeld appeared as himself in GTA 4's DLC. Nothing here confirms Scott, Richards, or anyone else is doing more than lending a song, but the theory isn't baseless given the franchise's history.

One caption may already point at a location

Scott's "J... O. H....." line, split across two lines of his post, lines up with the Jack of Hearts strip club shown in the Extended Look that streamed on Netflix last month. If that reading holds, it ties a musician tease directly to a location Rockstar has already put on screen, rather than to something invented purely for the marketing beat. It's still a guess built on a cropped caption, not a confirmed cameo, so treat it as the kind of clue Rockstar likes planting for players to argue over rather than a locked-in fact.

A soundtrack spot is already proving valuable

Rockstar doesn't need to oversell this rollout for artists to want in on it. After the Extended Look broke Netflix's own viewing records, decades-old tracks that appeared in the trailer saw streaming numbers spike well over 1,000% in the days that followed, per NME's reporting on the aftermath. That's the actual incentive here: a confirmed GTA soundtrack credit is one of the few placements left that can move a song, new or decades old, into a genuine overnight streaming jump. Artists lining up to tease their own involvement, unprompted by Rockstar's own marketing team, tracks with that math.

What's still unconfirmed

We don't know which of these ten artists get a radio station, a one-off licensed song, or, in Keith Richards' case, something that may not be musical at all. We don't know if this is the complete list or the first wave of a longer rollout; Scott's own "Phase 1" wording suggests more names are coming. And we don't know whether Rockstar will confirm any of it formally, the way it eventually named stations and DJs in past entries, or just let players discover the soundtrack by getting in a car after launch.

For what Rockstar has actually put its own name to, the everything-we-know hub tracks confirmed details separately from tease cycles like this one. With the 19 November launch now 64 days out, expect more artist-by-artist reveals before Rockstar says anything official on the record.
